Joan is not only an experienced CEO and serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of executive management experience at both public and privately held tech companies---she has also taughtcollege courses on strategy, business development, marketing, and all aspects of bringing new products to market.

An engineer by training from Yale and Stanford University, Joan holds patents in the area of grid computing and analytics on big data who worked on computing, networking, storage systems, and software for storing, processing, and analyzing big data. She actively advises and consults with numerous storage and networking companies and sits on the board of directors of several technology companies. Joan also serves as an adjunct faculty member at several universities teaching business, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization to undergraduates, MBA students, and Ph.D. students in engineering and the sciences.

Joan has been an entrepreneur, investor, and has held the role of venture partner with a venture capital firm.
